Ohio & Indiana

Monday, Aug 3
Driving day, drove farther west, left at 9:30, worked on my purple flower quilt, appliqued the second side. Arrived about 6:30, spent night at Twin Acres Campgreound in Whitehouse, OH. Had small pond for fishing and swimming, very nice campground under very tall maples and oaks, quite shaded, very nice people, $22 for W&E. We met an 18-year-old young man in a wheelchair, reminded us so much of Ken, who also had spina bifida. We chatted with him for a while. Going to Fort Wayne tomorrow.

Tuesday, Aug 4
Left 10 a.m. Took the county roads from Whitehouse, OH to Pierceton, IN. Lots of corn and soy bean fields along the way. Very flat. Farmers had German names likes Schiner, Wendt, Schneider, etc. Ce meteeries just small areas on farms, not hard to spot. Big black flies, about 1” long. The county roads are named with letters such as A, AC, X, etc. Indiana is similar to Ohio but the topography is more rolling. Staying at Yogi Bear in Pierceton for two nights. Went to Allen County Public Library and looked around. Very beautiful building and large library with two large rooms. Worked til 9 p.m. when the Library closed. Stopped for pizza on the way back to the campground. Got back about 10:30.

Soy bean field in Ohio. See how flat the land is.
